Our Story
Founders Nic and Sean met in 2017 while hauling summer camp luggage for another company. They lost their jobs in 2023 when the other company suddenly went out of business, and they knew they had work to do.
After taking some time to strategize and expand their horizons, Nic and Sean are back in action and bring unmatched experience to the table. They’re not just “some guys” trying to get into the industry - they know exactly what works, and more importantly what doesn’t work, because they’ve experienced it all before.
Double Time Luggage is focused on providing a white-glove experience transporting campers’ luggage from their homes to camp and back home. We aren’t just Fedex with extra steps; we are a dedicated service provider with trained, uniformed, professional drivers. Leaning into Nic and Sean’s military backgrounds, DTL brings precision and mission focus unlike any other to provide the best service experience possible.
Nic Talbott - DTL CEO
Nic began working in the summer camp luggage industry in 2013 as a driver and quickly rose through the ranks into an office management role. While camp luggage transportation was his primary job, he held a wide range of other roles including: city bus driver, corrections officer, substitute teacher, and project/operations manager.
Nic earned his bachelor’s degree in 2015 and his master’s degree in 2021, both from Kent State University. He is currently a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Reserve. He is an avid outdoorsman and can often be found hiking in state and national parks.

Sean Kaplan - DTL President
Sean began his professional career in 2015 as a student bus driver at Binghamton University, and graduated with his bachelor’s. He’s been moving luggage (among other things) since summer of 2017.
He’s currently a Sergeant in the Army National Guard, an avid outdoorsman, and conservationist. During the off season, he drives a K-12 school bus, and has previously worked as a Wildland Firefighter with the Forest Service.
